18th Feb.
We've all been very busy getting our classroom routines organised.
Waitangi Day and Chinese New Year have given us lots of opportunities for learning and sharing. Our big focus for Social Sciences this term is cultural celebrations, using these as a window into how traditions and cultural identity are nurtured and passed on. It is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity at our school and also the correspondences between our different cultures.
Chinese Lanterns have been made and we've been honing our tikanga.
Our theme in the classroom is 'Don't Be Shy', and it has been exciting to see everyone step up and express themselves. We've made a great start to the year.

Kia ora and welcome to the Room 25 Blog.
I'm Wayne, otherwise known as Mr. C., and I am thrilled to be working with your lovely children in 2018.
This first week we have been working towards building caring and collaborative relationships. As Rodgers and Hammerstein put it: "Getting to know you, getting to know all about you." We've enjoyed learning about who we are, about each other's whanau and about how we can support each other in our learning.
Who we are, our identity, is the foundation stone for our learning. In Rm. 25, we celebrate and affirm who we are in this class, in this wonderful melting pot of New Windsor, so that we all feel safe, valued and nurtured.
There is lots of exciting learning ahead as we embark on the 2018 Voyage of Discovery.
As Doctor Who would say, "Allons-y!" (let's go).
