Cross Country Week

It was all on for our Cross Country race this week.

Despite losing a shoe, Sean still managed to win the 7 year old boys section of the race. Everyone else put in a strong showing, putting lots of heart into the race.

It's been great to see everyone do so well in our Spelling Tests. Great work Room 25.

We've been reading 'The Spy Meeting' this week, learning how to dress and act as a spy. Slinking, creeping, sneaking: these verbs are now part of our lexicon for writing.

EOTC Week

What an exciting and action-packed week we have just had.
We have been doing lots of learning about how to keep safe at the beach, leading up to our visit to Red Beach on Friday. The Surf Lifesavers of Red Beach gave us lots of help with our learning and made sure that we had lots of  fun at the beach.
Red and yellow are now our favourite colours.

Using Adjectives & Similes in Our Writing

We've been using adjectives and similes in our writing, giving it some colour and spice.
Pairing an adjective with a noun has helped us to describe the noun for our readers.
Making use of similes has added an emotional texture to our descriptions - Ysabella wrote of cat 'whiskers that look like they're lonely' and Sean described his dog as 'small and fast, like me.'
But the most surprising was Samarbir's description of a rainy day as 'a perfect day', because he could go inside and draw and play with his Bey Blades.
